About the Role:We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Planner to join our Planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project programmes across assigned projects. You will work closely with project teams and key stakeholders to monitor progress, manage change, identify risks, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
The Senior Project Planner acts as a key support function to the project team, providing accurate reporting, performance measurement, and programme analysis to support successful project delivery. You will also play an important role in mentoring and developing junior members of the planning team.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain project programmes across tender, PCSA, contract, execution, design, and commissioning stages using programme software.
- Maintain live project programmes by gathering accurate progress updates and modelling change as it occurs, including variations, delays, modifications to logic, and duration adjustments.
- Collect and record accurate project progress information, including start and finish dates.
- Record and model delays and variations within the programme.
- Provide accurate reporting and identify/escalate project risks to support senior management decision-making.
- Prepare regular project reports, including progress updates, EHRA, 4-week lookaheads, critical path analysis, and additional reports as required.
- Support the substantiation of extension of time and acceleration claims through delay analysis techniques and programme modelling.
- Understand project scope, construction methodologies, project risks, and critical path activities within assigned projects.
- Attend internal weekly project meetings, planning department meetings, client-facing programme meetings, and workshops as required.
- Liaise with subcontractors to incorporate their timelines and progress into the master programme.
- Support compliance with contract conditions in relation to change management.
- Attend site visits as required, with a minimum of one site visit per four-week period per project.
- Provide regular updates on project and programme status to the Lead Planner and Planning Manager.
- Maintain accurate documentation and file management within P6 databases and ACC.
- Support departmental goals through strategic initiatives, planning workshops, and training programmes.
- Mentor and support the development of Planners, Junior Planners, and graduate planners.
- Contribute to improving planning capabilities and standards within the department.
- Adhere to all Planning Department procedures, standards, and processes.
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project planning or a similar role.
- Previous Data Center experience is essential.
- Strong experience using Primavera P6 with a commitment to continually developing knowledge of the software.
- In-depth understanding of project programmes, including critical path activities and programme logic.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project scope, and project risk management.
- Working knowledge of forensic delay analysis and delay modelling in Primavera P6.
- Experience producing project reports and programme updates.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in line with company procedures.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
