Our client, a prominent player in the rail sector, is currently seeking an experienced Acoustics & Vibrations (A&V) Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
This role offers the opportunity to work on significant international transport infrastructure projects, including metros, high-speed rail lines, and other complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and leading A&V assignments within major projects in the UK and internationally, liaising with remote production sites such as SYSTRA France A&V team.
Conducting airborne noise and ground borne noise and vibration impact assessments for rail operations and construction phases.
Designing acoustics for stations, buildings, tunnel portals, and shafts with mechanised ventilation fans.
Ensuring control of noise and vibration from mechanical and electrical equipment, and ensuring acoustic comfort in public and staff areas.
Managing client relationships and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Handling the technical interfaces and risks related to Acoustic & Vibration mitigation designs.
Participating in modelling, expert analyses, technical reviews, and specification drafting.
Managing resources and workload planning to ensure realistic project execution.
Preparing tender responses, including cost estimation and methodology development.
Interfacing with the A&V Group Competence Network Lead in France to develop bids and manage project delivery.
Contributing to the recruitment and supervision of future team members in the UK.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrable Noise and Vibration experience, ideally within rail or similar infrastructure projects.
Experience in supporting infrastructure projects with Noise and Vibration.
Ability to work autonomously in demanding and complex environments involving international clients and multi-site production.
Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
Sound judgment, team spirit, and leadership abilities.
