Senior Fire Engineer - Richmond, Southwest London

£55,000 - £75,000 | Hybrid | Fire Engineering Consultancy

A Senior Fire Engineer job is available in Richmond, Southwest London with a specialist, design-led fire engineering consultancy delivering compliant, practical fire strategies across the built environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role, managing complex fire engineering projects from concept to delivery, with clear progression to chartership and long-term career development. The business operates nationally and is known for prioritising quality over volume.

Project leadership
  • Lead fire engineering projects from design through to completion
  • Develop fire strategies, technical reports, sketches, and calculations
  • Carry out fire dynamics and structural fire assessments
Modelling & analysis
  • Undertake smoke and evacuation modelling
  • Perform hand calculations, zone modelling, and CFD simulations
Design & compliance
  • Review building designs for fire compliance
  • Develop fire-engineered solutions with the wider design team
  • Apply UK fire regulations and guidance across multiple sectors
Client & team collaboration
  • Work with clients, architects, and statutory authorities
  • Lead meetings and agree compliant design outcomes
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
  • Support the strategic growth of the fire engineering team
What we're looking for
  • Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline
  • Senior experience in a fire engineering consultancy
  • CEng or actively working towards chartership
  • Strong UK project delivery experience
  • Experience across new build and existing buildings
  • Confident client-facing communication
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple projects independently
