1st Step Solutions are supporting a well established Tier 1 M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Building Services Manager to be based on an education project on Isle of Wight.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in building services management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values up to 20 million.

• Reviewing installation plans and specifications to ensure that they deliver what the building/client needs.
• Advising the design team on the co–ordination of services within the overall building design, for example, advice on how much space is needed above the ceilings to accommodate ventilation systems and other services.
• Reviewing prices for services work.
• Testing and checking installations.
• Making sure jobs meet building regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Attending meetings and presenting ideas and progress reports to managers and clients.
• Advising clients on how the building services will operate once the building is complete.
• Helping to protect the environment by keeping energy wastage to a minimum within the building services.

• An industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above.
• SMSTS.
• CSCS Skill Card – Black Card desirable
• Ability to influence and drive positive attitudes and behaviours with regards to site health and safety.
• Experience dealing with mechanical sub–contractors.
• IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Will need to be able to understand building services including design principles, method statements, inspection test plans, risk assessments, commissioning, and handover requirements.
