Engineering, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Compliance & Protection

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join Baker Hicks, supporting the expansion of our Land Quality and Geo-Environmental capability across the UK.

Whether based in London or Motherwell, you will play an important role in strengthening our regional presence. In London, this includes helping establish and grow a team. In Motherwell, you will contribute to the continued development of an expanding capability.

• Experience with in a Geo-Environmental or Engineering Consultancy at Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent level
• Chartered membership (Soc Env, Geological Society, CIWEM or similar)
• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Applied Geology or related discipline
• Experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports and risk assessments
• Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and sampling methods
• Familiarity with current UK standards and guidance
• Commercial awareness including budgets and delivery timelines
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Full UK driving licence

• Materials Management Plans
• Soil classification tools such as Haz Waste Online  or WM3
• Input to fee proposals
• Sector experience in aviation, infrastructure, nuclear or life sciences

• Opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing Geo-Environmental team
• Involvement in establishing a presence in London or strengthening a team in Motherwell
• A mix of technical delivery, mentoring and team development
• Exposure to a wide range of projects across the UK

Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.

In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
