The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pedestrian Modelling Consultant to join the central London modelling team.
You will play a key role in delivering pedestrian modelling projects across major stadia, venues, stations, transport interchanges and large-scale urban developments. You will take ownership of technical work streams, work closely with clients and project teams, and provide technical insight to help solve complex pedestrian movement and capacity challenges.

The role offers excellent scope to take greater responsibility for project delivery, develop client relationships, support junior colleagues and contribute to proposals and business development.
There will also be opportunities to gain exposure to wider transport and traffic modelling assignments, providing excellent scope for continued professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of pedestrian modelling work from initial data analysis and model development through to reporting and presentation.
  • Develop and apply pedestrian models using tools such as Legion, Viswalk, Mass Motion or similar.
  • Build and review spreadsheet-based pedestrian capacity and flow models.
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to develop evidence-led recommendations.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations and client-facing documentation.
  • Interpret modelling outputs and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Take responsibility for technical quality and delivery of assigned work streams.
  • Liaise directly with clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the modelling team.
  • Contribute to bids, proposals and business development activity.
  • Support wider transport and traffic modelling projects where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of new modelling approaches, tools and methodologies.
About You

You will be an experienced pedestrian modelling professional who is confident working independently and ready to take greater ownership of projects and client relationships.
To be considered, you should have:

  • 3-5 years' experience in pedestrian modelling or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience using Legion, Viswalk, Mass Motion or similar pedestrian modelling software.
  • Experience developing spreadsheet-based pedestrian models and undertaking capacity calculations.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience working with large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and presenting technical findings.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and take responsibility for project delivery.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring more junior colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Data analysis, programming or coding skills would be desirable.
