We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant to join an award-winning manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant with hands-on mechanical experience who is looking to develop their engineering skills within a modern manufacturing environment.

As a Maintenance Engineer Assistant, you will provide practical support to the Maintenance Engineers, helping to reduce their workload and ensuring machinery is prepared for servicing and maintenance efficiently.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Maintenance Engineers with day-to-day engineering activities.
Taking machinery and mechanical equipment apart ready for servicing and maintenance.
Reassembling machinery correctly once servicing or maintenance work has been completed.
Preparing equipment for planned maintenance activities.
Carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and adjustments.
Working safely around industrial machinery and following site procedures.
Keeping equipment, tools and work areas clean and organised.

About You

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant with:

Previous hands-on mechanical experience, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment.
Good practical/mechanical aptitude.
Experience using basic mechanical tools.
Confidence taking machinery apart and putting it back together correctly.
The ability to follow instructions and work methodically.
A good understanding of health and safety when working around machinery.
A willingness to learn and develop engineering skills.
The ability to work as part of a team.

Formal engineering qualifications are desirable but not essential if you have good practical mechanical experience.
