Field Service Engineer - Electro-Mechanical, Diagnostics and Fault-Finding Skills
An excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong electro‑mechanical, diagnostics and fault‑finding skills, and previous experience working on laboratory instrumentation, to join a well‑established independent service company.

SALARY: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Car + Bonus + Benefits (see below)
LOCATION:
Visiting sites primarily in the London, Oxford and Cambridge area and occasionally other areas of the UK

This is an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer with electro‑mechanical, diagnostics and laboratory instrumentation experience to join a well‑established independent service company.
As the Field Service Engineer, you will work at customer sites, providing service, repair and calibration on both a contract and non‑contract basis across a large number of products.
The Field Service Engineer will support customers across universities, hospitals, research institutes and private sector laboratories, delivering a professional and reliable technical service.
DUTIES- Service, Repair and Calibration:
Carry out service, repair and calibration of a range of laboratory instrumentation - Customer Site Support:
Visit customer sites to deliver a professional technical service across contract and non‑contract work - Diagnostics and Fault Finding:
Use electro‑mechanical and diagnostic skills to identify faults and support effective repairs - Product Support:
Work across a large number of products, maintaining a flexible and organised approach to each customer visit - Customer Communication:
Communicate clearly with customers, providing helpful updates and professional support
- Experience of working on laboratory instrumentation
- Excellent diagnostic skills
- Ideally have a recognised electronics qualification along with good mechanical skills
- Be computer literate
- Be enthusiastic and have a desire for learning new skills
- Have a full driving licence
- Have good organisational skills
- Have excellent communication skills
