Junior / Assistant Geo-Environmental Consultant to join ouraward-winning

Contaminated Land& Hydrogeologyteamwithinthe Sustainable Land and Resource Management Practice.

Basedineitherour Exeter, Bristol,Birmingham,Cambridge, Epsomor London office(with flexible hybrid working), you willbe part of anaward-winning group of contaminated land experts delivering innovativebrownfieldsolutions tomajor UKinfrastructureprojects,across the transportation, energy, buildings and places and water markets.

• Organisation,collationand assessment of desk-based information as part of Phase 1
  
  Contaminated Land Desk Studies.
• Assisting on Phase 2 site investigations, including organising,supervising and undertaking environmental / geo-environmental site investigation and monitoring scopes. The role willincluderegularsite-based work such as contractor supervision, soil sampling and logging,environmentalmonitoring/sampling and supporting otherson sitein these roles too.
• Compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, including assisting in the preparation of H&S Plans for site investigation and managing health and safety on site.
• Contributing to the delivery of factual and interpretative reporting. This may include digital data management, development of conceptual site models, undertaking qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for human health and the water environment,hydrogeologicalmodellingand Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
• Support with remediation design,implementation and verification.
• Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, with support from the business on own training and development needs.
• Management of own work including supporting project managers to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on budget and to quality and client expectations.

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geography, hydrogeology, chemistry,earth sciences,environmental science).
• Membership of relevant professional body.
• An understanding of land contamination/brownfield land issues including relevant codes of practice and industry standards.
• Good organisational skills and an appetite for undertaking outdoor work in all weathers (alongsidea variety ofdesk-based tasks) are essential.
• Keen team player keen to learn and make a difference.
• Willingness to travel and undertake site-based work across the UK.
• Relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment), witha track recordin delivering workon-time, on budget and to quality and client expectations.
• Experience in delivering site-based work on active gas andelectricityinfrastructuredistribution/transmission sites.
  
  Further training can be provided as required.
• Additional specialist skills in hydrogeological modelling, EIA, environmental permitting,wasteand materials management areparticularly welcomed.
• Experience in working with geospatial data (GIS) using software such as QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
