Permanent London Energy Defence Civil  3DInfo Drainage Causeway  Flow We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our client’s civil engineering team within a leading global consultancy. The role will see you taking the lead technical delivery on complex, multidisciplinary projects while playing a key role in developing the wider team.

The successful candidate will coordinate and manage civil engineering design teams, delivering high-quality solutions across areas including drainage, utilities, pavements, earthworks, access and external works. Responsibilities will include overseeing design reports, specifications, drawings and calculations, providing technical leadership, managing project budgets and programmes, and supporting bids and proposals.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally, the Principal Civil Engineer will provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the civil engineering capability. The role also requires a strong focus on quality assurance, design standards and the delivery of practical, innovative engineering solutions.

Candidates should hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and be Chartered or Incorporated with ICE or an equivalent professional body. Significant consultancy experience, including the coordination or management of civil design teams within a multidisciplinary environment, is essential. Strong technical knowledge of drainage, utilities, pavements and earthworks is required, alongside familiarity with current design standards, CDM regulations and industry best practice.

Experience with Civil 3D, Causeway Flow or Info Drainage would be advantageous. Background in the Energy or Defence sectors would also be beneficial, although not essential.
