You have been operating at a senior level for a while now and you are ready for the title, the pay and the influence that should come with principal responsibility.

This is a large international engineering consultancy with a London office, working across major infrastructure, building services and sustainability focused projects for public and private sector clients. The scale of the business gives principals genuine influence over technical direction and business development, not just a heavier project load. There is scope to progress further into the practice's leadership for the right person over time.

If you are already doing principal level work but still reporting to someone who barely reviews it, or feel that reaching this level elsewhere would mean losing touch with the actual engineering, this role keeps you close to the technical work while giving you the seniority you have earned. You will lead major electrical design projects, take responsibility for technical quality across your team, and play a genuine role in mentoring and business development.

It suits someone who wants the scale and reputation of an international consultancy without losing hands on involvement in the engineering itself.

Salary is between 100,000 and 140,000, depending on experience.
