Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer​/Product Design Engineer

We are expanding our wearable platform with a new enclosure designed for demanding operational environments. We are looking for someone who can combine a rugged, tactical aesthetic with wearer comfort, sensing precision, manufacturability and robust engineering.

Building on our existing physiological monitoring technology, you will work alongside our multidisciplinary engineering team to take the enclosure and associated mechanical components from initial concept and prototyping through verification and final production.

• Help plan development and translate user needs into clear technical requirements, measurable design criteria and test plans, identifying applicable standards and acceptance criteria.
• Design the enclosure, strap, seals, sensor windows, fixings and internal supports, integrating the electronics, sensors, screen and battery.
• Address reliable sensor contact, comfortable and secure fit across different wrist sizes, durability and water resistance.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes. Deliver CAD models, engineering drawings, prototypes and production documentation, with appropriate tolerances and assembly methods.
• Ensure the design meets applicable mechanical, material and environmental standards. Coordinate and support verification and validation testing to demonstrate compliance and confirm agreed technical requirements are met, working with engineering and regulatory specialists.
• Identify, select and manage suppliers. Oversee tooling, manufacture, assembly and production quality, delivering initial production batches and preparing for larger scale manufacture within agreed cost and schedule targets.

Previous wrist wearable or other wearable product design, with proven experience taking products into production.

Fixed contract for 6 months.

Remote, with weekly attendance at our London office.
