A global, employee-owned engineering and design consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its London Building Engineering team.

With a strong presence across the UK and internationally, the business brings together engineers, architects and specialists across multiple disciplines. Its London team works on technically demanding projects across data centres and mission‑critical facilities, commercial offices, mixed‑use developments, industrial and healthcare, with a particular strength in complex critical environments.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take a leading role on data centre and mission‑critical projects, while working within a genuinely multidisciplinary environment.

You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle – from initial concept development and detailed design through to specifications, equipment selection and construction – giving you the opportunity to see your designs through to reality.

Alongside the technical side, you’ll have responsibility for managing resources, supporting the development of junior engineers and maintaining the high standards expected across the team.

Lead electrical engineering design from concept through to detailed and installation design
Develop complete electrical systems for data centre and mission‑critical facilities
Produce detailed designs, calculations, specifications and estimates
Review designs and reports to ensure technical quality and regulatory compliance
Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural and other multidisciplinary teams
Attend client and design team meetings and provide technical input
Manage resources and support project delivery against programme requirements
Carry out design reviews, QA checks and technical assurance
Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers
Ensure designs comply with relevant health, safety, quality and environmental requirements

You’ll ideally have:

5+ years’ experience in electrical building services design

Strong technical knowledge across electrical systems

Experience delivering detailed designs on complex building projects

Ideally, experience within data centres, mission‑critical or other technically demanding environments

Strong project and resource management skills

Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities

A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

BEng, MSc or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a relevant discipline

Work on some of the most technically challenging projects in the market

Develop specialist experience within the growing data centre and mission‑critical sector
