This position suits a driven Mechanical Engineer with proven contracting experience who wants a long-term role with clear avenues into Senior Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Project Manager positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate mechanical building services packages on major London developments from design coordination through to testing, commissioning and handover.
- Review and validate technical drawings, specifications, submittals and calculations.
- Coordinate mechanical services seamlessly with electrical, public health, structural and architectural trades.
- Manage specialist mechanical subcontractors and plant/equipment suppliers.
- Monitor installation quality on site to ensure all works align with specifications, Building Regulations and British Standards.
- Resolve technical engineering challenges and on-site clash issues promptly.
- Attend regular design coordination, project progress and client-facing meetings.
- Track programme milestones and support the commercial team with procurement and package scope reviews.
- Assist with integrated testing, balancing, commissioning and final building handover procedures.
About You
- Proven background working directly as a Mechanical Engineer for an M&E / building services contractor.
- Extensive track record delivering sizable mechanical packages within the commercial, residential or mixed-use sectors.
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, pipework, public health interfaces and central plant systems.
- Strong capability in reading drawings, coordinating spatial layouts and working across BIM/CAD models.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to lead subcontractor meetings and liaise with consulting engineers.
- Demonstrable career stability and commitment to long-term professional development.
What's on Offer
- Highly competitive salary of up to £90,000 depending on experience, plus package.
- Direct involvement on flagship London construction schemes.
