London, E17 | On-site

About us

We're automating homebuilding. Construction is one of the least automated industries in the world, and homes are still built largely by hand, in slow, expensive and fragmented processes. AUAR is a physical AI and robotics company changing that.

Our software platform, Master Builder, turns a building design into the instructions needed to manufacture a home’s timber structure. Our robotic Micro Factory then deploys directly onto a home builder’s site and produces the wall, floor and roof panels they need, on demand. It arrives in a shipping container, sits on a footprint of max 30 by 30 ft and runs off generators on a gravel pad: no grid connection, no permanent site works.

We own and run the equipment, our customers buy the panels it produces, not the machine.

We're past pure R&D and shipping our first commercial Micro Factories this year, across the UK, Europe and North America. Backed by Planet A, PT1, Shadow Ventures and ABB Robotics, we're a team of around 40 engineers, roboticists, operators and designers working from an 11,000 sq ft R&D and demonstration facility in London. The systems we build now will decide how homes are manufactured at scale.

The

role

We're looking for an electrical engineer to take ownership of day-to-day electrical build on our robotic Micro Factory.

Every Micro Factory brings industrial robots, PLC-controlled mechanisms, sensors, drives and safety systems together in a machine that leaves our workshop and runs off generators on site. The hard part isn't wiring one machine. It's building every machine to the same standard, documenting it properly, and being able to fault-find it in the field.

Working alongside our Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer, you'll design, build, test and validate the systems that make the Micro Factory run. You'll take ownership of day-to-day electrical build, own design packages, support deployments, and make sure the work is done properly, safely and to standard.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You'll work directly on machines that ship to real construction sites, and help shape how we build, test and document them as we scale production.

Problems you’ll work on
  • Electrical build - Own day-to-day electrical build on the Micro Factory, from working with our panel builders through to wiring, testing and sign-off.
  • Testing and validation - Define and run the tests that prove electrical systems and sub-systems meet build and safety requirements before a machine leaves the workshop.
  • Deployment & field support - Commission, fault-find and keep Micro Factories running on customer sites.
  • Design packages - Own electrical design packages and changes, keeping schematics and build documentation accurate so the next machine is built the same way. Support our Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to drive standards forward
  • Standards and safety - Raise build standards, drive H&S compliance during builds, and keep test equipment calibrated and maintained.
  • Repeatability - Improve build quality, speed and repeatability as we move from building machines to producing them, and guide technicians and junior team members along the way.
  • Engineering design. Own design packages to help improve our Micro Factory delivering design packages.
What good looks like
  • In your first weeks, you understand the Micro Factory’s electrical architecture, have worked through a build alongside our Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer, and are working from our schematics and standards.
  • Within your first month, you're running day-to-day electrical build yourself, including the relationship with our panel builders.
  • Within two months, you're the first point of contact for electrical build and testing, and have supported a Micro Factory on…
