A leading multidisciplinary fire engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Fire Engineer to join their growing London office.
The successful Principal Fire Engineer will join an established team of fire safety professionals, working on complex and technically challenging projects across the residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Fire Engineer looking to take ownership of major projects, provide technical leadership and contribute to the continued growth of a highly regarded consultancy.
The Principal Fire Engineer’s Role- Lead the delivery of fire engineering strategies for complex new-build and existing developments.
- Undertake fire safety assessments, technical reviews and detailed fire engineering calculations.
- Develop performance-based fire engineering solutions in accordance with relevant UK legislation and guidance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior fire engineers.
- Liaise with architects, developers, contractors and approving authorities.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring technical quality, programme delivery and client satisfaction.
- Support business development and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide expert advice on Building Regulations, particularly Approved Document B and BS 9999.
- Degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience within a UK fire engineering consultancy.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, fire safety legislation and relevant British Standards.
- Experience developing fire strategies for complex buildings.
- Knowledge of smoke control, evacuation modelling and fire dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
- Excellent communication, commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
