As Senior Technician, you’ll plan and organise logistics and on-site execution of our events for a busy production and entertainment company. You’ll work closely with the Technical Assistants, Head of Production, the Head of Operations and the wider team to ensure all technical aspects of the production run smoothly – from lighting and audio to staging and visuals. This is a hands‑on role and you will be expected to be involved in delivering equipment to events, rigging/installation, and working at events in capacities appropriate to your skills.
You’ll be expected to have previous experience delivering production at a range of events, and will work with junior and senior colleagues to help our production team grow. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong organisational skills, a good understanding of AV equipment, and a can‑do attitude.
Job RequirementsEssential Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in production within events, theatre or live entertainment
- Clean UK Driving Licence (ability to drive vans and transport kit to event sites)
- Strong practical understanding of audio‑visual equipment (sound desks, lighting rigs, screens, etc. plus knowledge of industry software such as QLab)
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and think on your feet
- Comfortable with hands‑on work including lifting, rigging and setting up technical gear
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexible schedule – availability for evening/weekend work as needed
- A strong team player with a proactive, can‑do attitude
- Experience in live performance or entertainment industry
- Formal training or certifications in AV or technical production
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk assessments
- Familiarity with event planning software or project management tools
- Assist the Head of Production in end‑to‑end technical production for events, from planning to de‑rig
- On‑site setup and breakdown of AV equipment including lighting, screens, sound systems and staging
- Manage logistics for equipment transportation and crew scheduling
- Assist the team in managing the warehouse, including maintenance of equipment and stock management/inventory
- Work closely with entertainers, clients and venues to ensure seamless delivery
- Conduct site visits and produce technical specifications for events
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during production
- Liaise with suppliers and freelancers where required
