Position: Music Reporting Assistant (9 month FTC)

Job Description

Sky's Music Department is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and self-motivated individual to join the Music Reporting team.

The purpose of the Music Reporting Assistant is to ensure that complete and accurate data is provided to the music societies. Adhering to strict monthly deadlines, the assistant is responsible for entering and verifying transmission and music details in Sound mouse (Sky's digital library, clearance and reporting system), enabling the timely and accurate distribution of royalties to performers, composers, publishers, and labels.

The Music Department is part of Sky Studios, Sky's original programming arm across Europe, and provides a wide range of resources and support to different business areas across the Sky Group. The main content areas served are Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, and Sky Creative, with the department structured into four teams:
Licensing, Creative, SATV, and Reporting.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met.
  • Be fully competent in the use of relevant systems including BSS, Sound mouse, and PRS for Music.
  • Ensure cue sheets are approved to a high degree of accuracy on a consistent basis.
  • Validate track and usage details using various web‑based music resources.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may occur through automated identification of music.
  • Work closely with the Music Licensing, Creative, and SATV teams to ensure accurate reporting of licensed & commissioned music.
  • Build and maintain solid and effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts.
Minimum Requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to fixed deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Understanding of the need for accuracy, diligence, and accountability with cue sheet data and music reporting.
  • Professional, positive, and proactive attitude, with the ability to work well both individually and within a team.
  • Previous experience and understanding of music copyright & reporting, along with a working knowledge of Sound mouse, would be advantageous.
