Salary: £12.90 per hour
Hours:
April – October 0–9 hrs per week;
November – March 0–7 hrs per week Job type:

As a Visitor Assistant you will be the face of Clifford's Tower, engaging with members, visitors, volunteers and stakeholders to create memorable experiences from arrival to departure. You will work as part of a team, ensuring the site is safe, presentable and welcoming for all.
Responsibilities- Manage admissions: sell and check tickets, process payments and provide information to visitors.
- Operate the retail area, including sales, stock management and customer service.
- Promote and sell memberships, explaining benefits to visitors and matching them to individual needs.
- Provide guidance to visitors, helping them navigate the site and maximize their experience.
- Maintain queues, manage crowd flow and perform general cleaning duties to ensure a tidy environment.
- Ensure the site remains safe and presentable at all times.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Optional:
Deliver guided tours at the York Cold War Bunker, provide educational visits for school groups, and assist with conservation and maintenance of the site’s collection.
We are looking for people who enjoy working with others as part of a team, have a passion for customer service, and can engage a diverse audience. Some paid or voluntary experience working with the public is beneficial but not essential.
