Event Operations Executive

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Location: London office (Clapham Junction, SW11 2LN
). Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 set days in the office (currently Wednesday and Thursday)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Core hours 9.00am to 5.30pm, plus weekend and unsociable hours around events

Start date: August / September 2026

The Opportunity

Want to help put on some of the biggest mass participation events in the UK? We’re looking for a detail-orientated Event Operations Executive to join our Event Operations Team and help plan and deliver events across our portfolio, from the adidas Manchester Marathon to the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run.

You’ll help the team make sure every event is planned, organised and communicated well in advance, so it runs smoothly and to a high standard on the day. You’ll also help research and develop new suppliers and ideas, with plenty of scope to shape and improve how we plan. It’s a great chance to learn from some of the best people in the industry and play a real part in events that change lives.

What You'll Do

  • Help manage and look after the event crew, including recruitment, ongoing communication, and keeping accurate records of availability, contact details, and crew requirements such as food, travel and accommodation.
  • Help manage event equipment, both on-site at events and in storage.
  • Help manage suppliers so they provide an efficient, effective service within budget.
  • Assist on events across the portfolio, planning and delivering assigned parts to a high standard.
  • Design and produce event documentation.
  • Help manage the relationships that make each event a success.
  • Help manage your assigned area of the live event through set-up, event day(s) and break-down, including infrastructure, suppliers and personnel.
  • Spot and share opportunities to improve how we work.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 1+ years of working in an operational capacity on events or projects.

Skills and competencies

  • Clear, concise communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisation, prioritisation and time management.
  • Ability to build relationships and get on well with participants, staff, contractors, crew, volunteers and the public.
  • A team player who’s resourceful, uses their initiative, and will go the extra mile and get hands-on.
  • Good research, problem-solving and negotiation skills, or a willingness to learn them.
  • Comfortable with MS Office, and in particular happy using Excel.

Other requirements

  • A full UK driving licence, and a willingness to drive a van and get stuck in on site.
  • Willing to travel and stay away as needed for meetings, site visits and events.
  • Willing to work multiple weekends and unsociable hours across the portfolio. (TOIL days are given in return for event weekend days worked.)
