Position: Head of Production & Content (maternity cover)
Location: Greater London

We are looking for a Head of Production and Content to join the National Theatre Digital Team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover).

The Head of Production & Content is responsible for leading on the development, production and delivery of the NT's original digital content, from stage captures to original content series. They lead a unified team of Production Staff, Editors, Producers and Post-Production specialists in delivering content across the NT’s digital products (NT Live, NT at Home, NT Collection and You Tube) as well as third party broadcasters.

They are responsible for continually optimising and evolving production processes for content creation, and harnessing innovation and creativity to create world-leading filmed theatre. They ensure the Production & Content team is fully integrated and aligned to support organisation-wide business objectives.

As a key senior leader, they work collaboratively with the Executive team and stakeholders across the organisation to shape new digital opportunities, extend the reach and impact of the NT’s work, and provide strategic oversight of external filming and content partnerships associated with the National Theatre.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Significant proven priorexperiencein a senior positionleading a Production and/or Content team delivering content fortheatrical, home entertainment or education markets.
  • Understanding of live broadcast workflows and experience of innovating processes within this field in relation to cameraand sound technology
  • Established and successful track record delivering complexdigital content ensuring value for money is maximised and projects are delivered on time.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the creative industries, in particular theatre industry and key players in the creative community
  • Substantial experience of leading cross-functional teams, witha track recordof managing and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment, supporting their professional development, and ensuring and collaborative and supportive workplace.
  • Extensive experience setting,managing,and analysing budgets to ensure effective management of resources, both financial and personnel.
