You will be an active member of the Technical team, and play a pivotal role in bringing events to life, supporting the delivery of all technical aspects of both our live program, cinema screenings and events. You will work closely with the Senior Projection & AV Technician to ingest content, adverts and create playlists at Warwick Arts Centre’s three digital cinemas, whilst supporting the wider Technical team’s AV requirements across the wide range of events that take place across our multi-venue Arts Centre.
It is essential that you are a collaborative, positive and pro-active individual who also has a good understanding of projection and AV.
In this role, you’ll specialise in live cinema projection, digital technologies, audiovisual, and simple sound operations, all within the context of the performing arts. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of technical presentation for all events while maintaining a keen awareness of health and safety regulations.
Flexibility is key in the event industry, and you’ll need to be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Please note a 5% availability allowance is included in the advertised salary scale.
About you- Educated to a minimum of GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths
- Professional experience in sound in a technical theatre environment
- Previous professional experience in delivering Projection services, Sound and AV technologies in a live theatre performance or Cinema environment
- Previous professional experience of providing at least one of the following: lighting rigging and operation; technical stage
- Management including rigging of lifting equipment and counterweight flying; cinema Projection; theatre carpentry
- Experience of supervision of casuals, freelancers, students, visiting technical staff as required, external contractors.
- Proven excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a flexible and creative approach with artistic sensitivity.
- A proven ability to work on own initiative to solve problems in venues.
- An awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace including but not limited to manual handling, LOLER or PUWER, COSHH, Noise at work.
- Good IT skills - Mac & Windows
- The ability to work long, unsocial hours. Working at height, with low light, manual handling and trip hazards in a sometimes dirty, noisy environment & night working
- Industry / electrical / projection / Health & safety qualification
- Proven relevant vocational CPD training e.g. ABTT awards, PLASA rigging, IPAF, MEWP training
- Competent in CAD packages
- Possession of a full clean driving licence
