The Lives of Others - Sound No. 2 - London Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for an experienced Sound No. 2 to work on the West End production of The Lives Of Others , adapted and directed by Robert Icke for the Adelphi Theatre. Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Sound No. 2 on a first-class West End production.

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in sound, the ability to work under pressure and effectively within a team, good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly and the sound design is maintained. Candidates must also possess a highly skilled level of preparation, rigging, maintenance and operation of the sound design and sound equipment.

Responsibilities include the preparation, operation and maintenance of equipment to implement the sound design for the production. This may also include attending rehearsals, liaising with the performing company and other departments to create an efficient and successful department. Equipment will include but not be limited to radio transmitters and their associated microphones, communications equipment, mixing consoles, playback equipment and speaker systems.

Fixed term until Saturday 9th January 2026, or for the run of the Production, whichever shall be the shorter, subject to two weeks’ notice by the Producer as per the SOLT/BECTU Agreement. Salary:
Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement Weekly

Hours:

6 day working weeks (Monday to Saturday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls. Final date to receive applications: 13th September 2026, 23:59
