Our client is a hugely respected award-winning accountancy firm, whose London Reward team is growing and looking to recruit Share Schemes Tax Advisory Director. This role sits at the heart of their tax advisory offering and offers the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and clients across the firm.
What you’ll be doing :This is a varied and stimulating role, involving plenty of technical challenge and client interaction. Your work will include:
- Leading and collaborating with a diverse client base, including startups, growing entrepreneurial businesses, private family capital, large international groups, and investment funds
- Advising management teams and shareholders on the design and implementation of employee share schemes, including EMI, CSOP, and growth shares
- Supporting tax due diligence projects, working closely with Corporate Finance, Employment Tax, and VAT teams
- Advising on and helping to implement corporate reorganisations, such as capital reductions and s110 demergers
- Reviewing share purchase agreements, tax covenants, and disclosure letters for acquisitions and disposals
- Advising on Employee Ownership Trusts
- Preparing statutory and non-statutory HMRC clearance applications
- Advising on international group structures and cross-border transactions
- Interpreting and applying double tax agreements in the context of corporate transactions
- Working with tax compliance teams on follow-up compliance work arising from transactions
While this is a broad advisory role, experience with share incentive schemes is particularly important. Experience with tax valuations for EMI options and growth shares would be a bonus.
The role would suit a qualified professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA or similar) with several years’ post-qualification experience.
You’ll be able to demonstrate:- Strong UK tax technical knowledge and the ability to solve complex tax issues
- Confidence in interpreting technical matters and explaining them clearly to clients and colleagues
Experience reviewing and preparing advisory reports and technical correspondence - Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and manage budgets
- A collaborative approach, keeping clients, colleagues, and advisers informed as work progresses
- A client-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work and taking day-to-day responsibility for your projects
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
The role is based in central London but offers hybrid working 2-3 days a week.
