Company Accountant

A Company Accountant is sought for an SME business based in North Yorkshire on a full or part-time basis.

The Company Accountant will work in tandem with one other to lead a small finance team and provide accurate financial information to the company’s directors.

The ideal candidate will have worked in an SME environment; we are open to either qualified or qualified by experience applicants.

Main duties of the role Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for the business, providing valuable insights to aid decision-making processes Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, adhering to relevant accounting standards Oversee the production of accruals and prepayments, ensuring that financial records accurately reflect the financial position of the company Conduct in-depth bank reconciliation work, meticulously verifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Regularly review accounts receivable, monitoring outstanding invoices and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure prompt payment and resolution of any issues Maintain the fixed asset register, including accurate recording of acquisitions and disposals Perform depreciation calculations in accordance with accounting policies Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely submission to relevant authorities Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including banks, external accountants, and the Managing Director Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address financial queries and provide necessary information Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

This role will be 100% office-based at our client’s premises in North Yorkshire.
