Job Description & How to Apply Below
Are you an ambitious Financial Controller or Head of Finance from a Financial Services background, ready to take the next significant step in your career?
I am working exclusively with a growing, private equity backed Financial Services SME to recruit a Head of Finance. This role will operate as the clear number two to the CFO, with a defined and credible succession plan to step into the CFO position within the medium term, approximately three to five years.
The role is based from the company’s new Central London office two days per week, with regular travel to their secondary Midlands office, which is easily accessible by train.
The business is scaling rapidly following its recent transition from family ownership to private equity backing. Significant investment is being made into systems, structure and long term strategy, creating an outstanding opportunity for a senior finance leader to shape the future of the function and the wider business.
This is a genuinely rare opportunity to take ownership of your career trajectory. You will be given the time and support to fully understand the business while laying the foundations for a successful tenure as future CFO. You will build, mentor and develop your own teams, design and implement robust processes, and continue your own professional development under the guidance of an experienced CFO.
If you are driven, commercially minded and motivated by impact and progression, this role stands out.
In this role, you will:
Drive complex budgeting and forecasting, utilising advanced financial modelling skills
Lead the finance team to deliver accurate and timely management and statutory accounts, while developing people and processes
Manage cash flow, treasury and liquidity across the group
Oversee group audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors
Support systems development and process improvement, with a strong focus on continuous improvement
Manage VAT and tax submissions in conjunction with external advisors
Mentor, develop and strengthen the finance team
Provide high quality financial insight and constructive challenge to the CFO and wider board
You will be:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, essential
Experienced in a financial services environment
Highly experienced in financial modelling and complex forecasting
Technically strong, with experience in group reporting
Confident managing cash flow and audit processes
Experienced in leading teams and building scalable finance functions
Adaptable, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
Experienced within a private equity backed or high growth environment, preferred
If you are seeking a senior finance role with genuine progression, influence and a seat at the top table, this is a standout opportunity to fast track your career within a dynamic and ambitious business
