Accounts Payable Specialist

• Process, match, code, and verify supplier invoices in line with internal approval workflows.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain the AP ledger, ensuring all transactions are up to date and correctly recorded.
• Ensure all AP processes follow internal controls, audit requirements, and accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end activities including accruals, prepayments, and AP reporting.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and timely responses.
• Act as the first point of contact for supplier queries, providing professional and timely responses.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams to resolve invoice issues and improve workflow efficiency.
• Monitor and manage the shared AP inbox to ensure prompt action on all correspondence.
• Maintain accurate digital records in the finance systems and document management tools.
• Support system improvements, process streamlining, and automation initiatives.
• Contribute to best practice financial operations and continuous improvement efforts.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or finance administration role.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice workflows, and reconciliations.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, or similar).
• Experience in the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services industries desireable.
