Accounts Assistant, Creative business

We’re partnering with a design‑led consumer products business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is looking to build strong foundational experience across transactional accounting within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This role will provide hands‑on exposure across purchase ledger, cashbook and month‑end processes, while working closely with the Management Accountant and wider team. The business offers a positive culture and genuine progression opportunities, including support towards professional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Purchase Ledger & Payments
  • Process supplier and factory invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Manage supplier statements, remittances and reconciliations
  • Support weekly payment runs (including BACS and overseas/factory payments)
  • Process staff expenses and manage petty cash
  • Monitor and maintain the shared finance inbox
Banking & Cashbook
  • Post and allocate cashbook transactions
  • Support bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month‑end current account reconciliations
Month‑End & Reporting Support
  • Reconcile aged creditors and investigate variances
  • Assist with spend analysis and reporting
  • Provide support with ad‑hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
Requirements Experience & Skills
  • Previous office or finance experience (accounts exposure advantageous)
  • Experience in purchase ledger or transactional finance a distinct benefit
  • Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Comfortable working with Excel and financial systems
  • Proactive, positive and willing to learn
