We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Risk-Real Estate Services.

You’ll play an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.

You’ll provide operational risk and control expertise, conducting high quality reviews of the bank's control environment, conducting end to end control assurance reviews on key controls, maintaining robust risk governance focused on material risk and issues, and evolving a culture of continuous and consistent risk management.

In this role you’ll:

  • Act as trusted advisor for the senior management of the supported remit area on how to properly manage their operational risk and all items related (risk assessments, control environment, issues management)
  • Manage the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
  • Manage the provision of specialist risk and control knowledge and insights leading efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviours
  • Actively challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours
  • Manage the development and implementation of future‑fit risk management frameworks
  • Provide remit area Senior Management with updates on any relevant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility
  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Expertise in a risk and control environment, very strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, risk management, including understanding of industry best practices and how to implement and maintain an effective control environment
  • Strong analytical and written presentation skills with ability to work under pressure with high accuracy and focus
  • Solid understanding of the Real Estate Services function including key risk managed such as Building Unavailability, Workplace Safety and Third‑Party Risk
  • Ability to develop trusted adviser status with key Real Estate Service stakeholders through SME expertise; ability to understand desired Business outcomes across the matrix and ability to translate into well‑articulated requirements
  • Fluent English both written and verbal, with strong analytical, problem‑solving, organisational, lateral thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Exercise sound decision making and related judgments; you must operate with a degree of autonomy, flexing your approach to the objectives, needs and requirements of the testing team
  • Flexible and adaptable being able to handle and prioritise competing demands in a fast‑paced environment
