Job Summary

Within the broader Group, the Wealth Planning division delivers integrated financial planning and investment advice to UK‑based high‑net‑worth and aspiring families. The team, comprising around 25 professionals, provides fully regulated advice across investments, pensions and protection to in excess of 250 client families with average investable assets exceeding £3 million.

Reporting to a Wealth Planning Director, the Senior Wealth Planner is responsible for the proactive delivery of high‑quality, technically robust financial planning advice. The role includes leading relationships with designated clients and supporting colleagues across the wider client base. All advice is provided on a fee‑only basis.

The Senior Wealth Planner will collaborate closely with a Client Director who will support the strategic and commercial development of the relationship. However, full accountability for advisory delivery rests with the Senior Wealth Planner.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of client relationships through regular meetings, calls, written updates and ongoing proactive engagement.
  • Develop tailored strategies aligned to clients’ current circumstances, long‑term aspirations and lifestyle goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive Wealth Plans, Strategy Papers and Recommendation Reports that clearly articulate advice, demonstrate technical rigour and support client understanding and commitment.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients and contribute to ad‑hoc project work, from initial strategy development through to full implementation.
  • Maintain close communication with the Client Director, embedding the client relationship, identifying opportunities for referrals and supporting broader business development.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of pensions, tax, investment markets, regulatory changes and relevant product developments, and assist in integrating such developments into the advice process.
  • Ensure all activity is accurately recorded within client management systems and is fully compliant with FCA requirements, internal procedures and all applicable regulations.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the Client Services team to ensure efficient operational execution, service excellence and continued development of their skills.
  • Contribute to the team through peer review of suitability letters, Wealth Plans and strategy documents, supporting continuous improvement and adherence to best practice standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree‑educated or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum Level 4 qualification, ideally Chartered, with Pension Transfer accreditation
  • Extensive experience in complex pension planning, including large pension pots, defined benefit schemes, inter‑generational planning, IHT strategies, protection and core investments
  • Strong technical expertise across pensions, protection and investment planning
