European Tax Advisory

The European Tax Advisory practice at FTI Consulting provides corporate tax advisory services to multi‑national businesses ranging from compliance and reporting, tax transaction support to best practice process implementation and structuring. Our tax advisory services are expert‑led, client‑centric and focused on mitigating tax risk and minimizing cost. Our Senior Management Team are leaders in their fields, qualified in accounting, tax, law and surveying.

The team also includes economists, valuation & technology experts.

We are currently seeking recently qualified tax advisors to join our successful and growing London‑based tax team on a full or part‑time basis. The role will be focused on UK corporate tax compliance and reporting and a range of tax advisory services for clients.

Our engagements are typically anchored around the provision of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting support, but will also involve group tax planning & reorganisations, tax advice on financing, M&A transaction support, cross‑border tax advisory, tax risk management (such as SAO) and dealing with HMRC. We generally lead the relationships and planning on our clients and manage the support from our other tax specialist colleagues such as Transfer Pricing, Capital Allowances, R&D, Real Estate, VAT, Employment Taxes and Share Schemes.

You will be working with some of the most high‑profile clients within FTI and will be encouraged to take the lead with the day‑to‑day relationships with clients. In addition, you will be developing managerial skills as you oversee and train junior members of the team. Therefore, at the outset you will take on a high level of responsibility, while being fully supported by the senior members of the team and the wider tax group.

What

You’ll Do
  • Supporting the senior team with preparation and supervision of tax compliance and reporting projects
  • Assisting with tax advisory work in transactions, structuring and international taxation
  • Taking ownership of the day‑to‑day relationship with certain clients
  • Liaising with other members of the tax team as required
  • Assisting with the evolution of best practice tools and templates to increase efficiency
  • Delegating work to and managing the junior members of the tax team
  • Actively keeping up to date on technical matters and dealing with detailed technical queries raised, coordinating the preparation of practical, robustly supported advice
  • Taking ownership of projects in relation to WIP management and billing
  • Undertaking training both for clients and internally as required
What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to build strong professional and personal relationships with client teams at all levels and across the firm
  • Excellent communicator in a range of different forums (written and verbal)
Basic Qualifications
  • ACA, CTA or equivalent qualified with a good level of PQE
  • Experience in UK corporate tax compliance, including tax reporting & either international or middle market advisory
