Exciting Growth Travel Company
We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Interim Finance Director to lead a finance function through a period of transition while a permanent Finance Director is recruited.
This is a hands-on, senior role focused on stability, rigour and continuity. You’ll take ownership of core finance operations, priority deliverables, and decision-making during the interim period, working closely with the CEO, leadership team and board to ensure a smooth handover from the outgoing FD to the incoming permanent hire.
The role
As Interim Finance Director, you will:
- Stabilise and maintain continuity across the finance function during leadership transition
- Own priority deliverables such as board reporting, budgeting, pay review processes and a payroll software migration
- Act as the accountable owner for finance decisions and sign-off within an agreed governance framework
- Provide clear, reliable financial insight to support leadership and board decision-making
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, forecasting and reporting to support informed strategic decisions
- Own financial reporting across multiple entities, including consolidated reporting
- Oversee tax, regulatory and investor compliance, working closely with external advisers
- Manage cash flow, liquidity and financial resilience while supporting growth investment
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO
About you
You’ll bring:
- Significant experience as a senior finance leader in a high-growth or scaling business
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or equivalent)
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach with the ability to turn complex data into clear insight
- Strong experience in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and controls
- Proven expertise in cash flow, working capital and liquidity management
- Confidence working with CEOs, boards and investors
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Experience in values-led or B Corp–aligned organisations
- Background in travel, B2C, tech scale-ups or remote-first environments (50–100 people)
- Prior fractional, consulting or advisory experience
- Time commitment: 2–3 days per week (0.4–0.6 FTE)
- Location: Remote-first, with attendance at key London meetings at least twice per quarter
