BUSINESS UNIT

The Energy, Infrastructure & Transition group's goal is to be the lead financial advisor and debt provider for targeted renewables and infrastructure clients by providing value-added advice and solutions across key asset classes and geographies. The Energy, Infrastructure & Transition group has offices globally across Canada, US, Europe (UK and Luxembourg), Colombia and Australia.

Energy, Infrastructure & Transition group supports its infrastructure clients such as infrastructure private equity funds, large pensions plans, and developers through providing Financial Advisory Services for Asset Acquisition/Divestiture of Infrastructure Assets as well as Public-Private Partnership Buy‑Side Financial Advisory services, in each case leveraging its knowledge of various debt, equity, and derivative hedging products. Infrastructure sectors include, among others; airports and ports, light rail and heavy rail, roads and bridges, hospitals, schools, renewable energy, regulated utilities and energy transition.

JOB

PURPOSE

To research, analyze and interpret information required as part of the origination and execution of transactions. As a primary client contact, assist in maintaining and managing client relationships and interdepartmental relationships. To advise clients on approaches to raising funds through equity debt and capital markets issues and in underwriting new issues.

KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Work as part of the Global EIT team on the origination and execution of corporate finance and M&A transactions.
  • Manage and train Associates and Analysts.
  • Undertake industry group research and analysis using a variety of data sources.
  • Undertake company specific analysis and valuations with heavy emphasis on financial modelling.
  • Preparation of marketing information including preparation of pitch books, formal client presentations and transaction documentation.
  • Analyse capital structures and means of financing.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external client groups.
  • To perform routine analysis of information, developing conclusions and responses.
  • To document and save the analysis in the appropriate files to maintain data bases, comps and precedent transactions as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Relevant deal experience in M&A and capital raising.
  • Extensive understanding of deal structuring.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement, specifically in finance and accounting.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects and to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse information and formulate responses to issues.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
  • Degree educated with at least four years directly relevant experience within Investment Banking and/or relevant industry.
  • MBA and / or CFA considered an asset.
