OverviewPartnered with a growing FMCG business based in West London, situated within walking distance of the Central and Bakerloo Line, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant on a full time permanent basis (100% Office Based), to join a fast-paced FMCG business. This is a hands-on role supporting the Management Accountant with month-end processes, reporting, and financial analysis, while mentoring a junior team member.
Keyresponsibilities
- Processing the month-end close, posting journals, and preparing management accounts (income statement and balance sheet)
- Taking full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing monthly purchase reports covering duty calculation, commission, and freight costs
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts, board reports, and departmental reviews
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts regularly
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data
- Completing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Preparing weekly management reports such as aged debtor and sales analysis
- Supporting the Management Accountant with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and projects
- Providing cover for the Assistant Accountant
- Managing and mentoring a Junior Accountant
- Supporting other ad hoc finance tasks as required
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as an Assistant Management Accountant
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas such as VLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail for producing accurate reporting
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
- A willingness to learn from senior colleagues and contribute to team success
