Finance Director – Fast Growth Tech Scale-Up – London (Hybrid)

Better Placed is partnering exclusively with a market-leading, international B2B tech business based near Kings Cross looking to appoint a Finance Director at a critical stage of its scale-up journey.

Founded by an experienced leadership team and backed by a genuinely differentiated product, the business has grown rapidly to become a leader in its space. With revenues exceeding £30mill YoY growth, and an expanding global footprint, the company is now entering a new phase of international expansion, operational complexity, and long-term exit planning.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded, operationally strong finance leader to shape and scale a global finance function in a fast-moving, product-led environment.

Reporting into the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, this role will take full ownership of the finance operation as the business scales internationally.

The position is deliberately broad and hands-on, combining leadership of day-to-day finance operations with responsibility for building scalable systems, processes, and controls to support growth across 10+ legal entities. The emphasis is firmly on operations, scalability, and commercial support, rather than heavy corporate controls.

This role will suit someone who has grown with a scale-up and enjoys building as much as running.

• Lead end-to-end finance operations across a rapidly expanding, multi-entity international group
• Partner with commercial and sales teams on pricing, debtor strategy, and client management
• Oversee VAT and international compliance, supporting new entity set-ups and cross-border trading
• Deliver a finance systems and integration roadmap, reducing manual processes and improving automation
• Manage and develop a lean but capable finance team in a fast-paced environment
• Oversee the team in building rigour and robust processes around AR, AP, billing, debtor management, and intercompany processes, including large enterprise clients
• Provide clear, actionable insight to leadership to support decision-making and growth

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred) or equivalent senior finance experience
• Proven background in tech/marketplace
• Experience supporting international expansion and multi-entity structures
• Commercially minded and pragmatic, able to balance speed, flexibility, and risk
• Comfortable operating in a scaling business where priorities shift quickly
• Systems-aware, with experience improving finance processes and infrastructure
• Hands-on leader who enjoys building and evolving a finance function

• Competitive senior-level salary (c. £110,000 – £140,000, depending on experience)
