This is a newly created, first-in-role opportunity for a Tax Director to establish and lead the tax function within a fast-growing, private equity-backed, international hospitality platform operating across multiple jurisdictions.
The role has full ownership of tax matters across the group and will play a key part in supporting global expansion, investment activity, refinancing, and governance. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, commercially focused mindset, ensuring robust compliance, effective tax planning, and proactive risk management in a complex multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Take full responsibility for tax across all operating jurisdictions.
- Act as the primary internal subject matter expert on all tax matters.
- Provide trusted, commercially sound tax advice to senior stakeholders.
- Establish a scalable tax framework aligned to a global, PE-backed structure.
- Oversee end-to-end tax compliance processes across multiple countries.
- Manage and coordinate external tax advisors and service providers.
- Review and oversee tax reporting for quarterly group consolidation.
- Ensure timely, accurate filing and adherence to local regulatory requirements.
- Lead tax due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing activity.
- Provide structuring advice to optimise tax outcomes while managing risk.
- Review financial models, SPAs, financing documentation, and legal agreements from a tax perspective.
- Maintain tax oversight of investments throughout their lifecycle.
- Provide proactive tax advice to Finance, Legal, and corporate teams.
- Monitor legislative developments across jurisdictions and assess impact.
- Support tax planning, strategy development, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Ensure transfer pricing compliance and alignment with internal policies.
- Contribute to tax forecasting and annual business planning cycles.
- Implement and enhance tax controls, documentation, and governance processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting, compliance efficiency, and risk management.
- Support broader finance and cross-functional initiatives as required.
- Qualified tax professional (ACA / CTA / equivalent).
- Minimum 4+ years’ post-qualified experience (PQE).
- Experience operating in a multinational environment, ideally within hospitality, real estate-backed platforms, or asset-heavy consumer businesses.
- Strong exposure to cross-border tax, structuring, and transaction work.
- Comfortable working within a private equity-backed or investor-driven environment.
