We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Assistance Manager to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for managing high-volume reconciliations, supplier payments, ledger maintenance and handling both internal and external financial queries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bi-weekly reconciliation of 200+ accounts via BACS, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Raise weekly payment runs for key suppliers in line with agreed credit terms.
• Process same-day and urgent payments as required.
• Responding to internal and external queries relating to:
  • Credit terms
  • Supplier onboarding documentation
  • Account status updates
  • Payment queries
• Use the Cargowise system to run supplier ledgers, process allocations, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Handle and resolve escalations from both internal and external suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide cover for the Finance Manager during periods of annual leave, ensuring business continuity.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Experience processing high-volume reconciliations and payments.
• Experience using financial systems (Cargowise experience desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external suppliers.
• Confident handling escalations and resolving discrepancies.
