Location: London, UK (Hybrid working available 1-2 days per week)

Role Overview: Senior Business Analyst role focusing on enterprise payment systems implementation, requiring expert knowledge of global payment formats, schemes, and processing components.

Key Technical Knowledge Required:

SWIFT MT message series (MT101, MT103, MT202 incl. ACK/NACK flows)

Fedwire and CHIPS formats, Regional ACH formats across different geographical regions

XML and JSON payment structures (API)

Cross-border payment requirements

High-Value Payment Systems (HVPS)

Message transformation services

Payment routing engines

Sanction screening integration

Payment warehousing systems

Format conversion services

Payment status tracking

Payment repair workflows

Return and recall processing

Duplicate checking services

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Documentation:

Write detailed user stories following the Who/What/Why format to ensure clear business value

Develop comprehensive scenario-based acceptance criteria using Given/When/Then framework

Partner with clients to understand their treasury management challenges and translate these into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria

Create clear documentation that traces from business requirements through to technical implementation

Ensure all user stories are testable and aligned with business objectives

Payment Processing Design:

Specify format transformation requirements

Define payment routing rules

Payment Template creation and maintenance

Design payment repair workflows

Define payment status tracking requirements

Integration Requirements:

Payment gateway integration

Banking connectivity requirements

Sanction screening integration

Payment networks connectivity

Payment status messaging

Return/recall processing

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years in Payment Systems

Deep understanding of payment formats and schemas

Experience with payment transformation systems

Knowledge of payment market infrastructures

Expertise in payment processing components

Strong background in payment integration

Required Skills:

Expert knowledge of global payment systems

Deep understanding of payment message formats

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Excellence in payment workflow design

Advanced documentation skills

Mastery of user story writing and acceptance criteria

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline

Payment systems certifications

SWIFT certifications advantageous

ISO 20022 certification beneficial
