About

the Role

We’re hiring a Renewable Energy Underwriter to join our Energy & Construction team in London. This is a newly created position offering the chance to work on a global portfolio of business, using your existing client and broker relationships to help shape the future of our Renewable Energy book.

Working within our Energy & Construction team this role is crucial to the growth and development of our business plan. This is a role for someone who is interested in broadening their experience and looking to build an exciting future in a team which is planning to grow significantly in the next few years.

You’ll report to the UK Head of Renewable Energy with a matrix reporting line to the Global Head of Energy and Construction. This position is based in our London office with a hybrid schedule giving you flexibility to work remotely two days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Use your existing market relationships to source and underwrite new renewable energy business.
  • Work with our current Junior Underwriter on the existing renewal book.
  • Play a key role in shaping future underwriting strategy including new business territories and lines of cover.

  • Underwrite and price Renewable Energy risks, ensuring diversity, quality and profitability within the Everest underwriting appetite.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key brokers and clients.
  • Represent Everest at client and broker meetings and industry events.
  • Share market insights on competitors, technology trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Work with the UK Head of Renewable Energy to shape strategy and drive portfolio growth.
  • Contribute to divisional pricing and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate across underwriting, claims and other teams to deliver joined-up solutions.
Qualifications
  • Proven Renewable Energy underwriting or broking experience in the London and international markets.
  • Ability to prioritise and stay organised in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess opportunities and risks.
  • Proactive, collaborative and committed to high standards of professionalism.
  • Skilled in negotiation and relationship-building.
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
