The Debt Advisory & Restructuring team at Jefferies is one of the most active global platforms. We help our clients enhance their financial position by obtaining the best available capital and by implementing complex restructuring transactions. The team works across industries and geographies, providing independent, holistic advice in complex capital structure and distressed environments.
As an Analyst, you will play an integral role in supporting senior bankers on live transactions, financial modelling, market analyses, and the execution of debt advisory and restructuring mandates.
Key Responsibilities Transaction Execution- Support the execution of debt advisory and restructuring transactions, including refinancings, leveraged loan and bond issuance, liability management exercises, and both in‑court and out‑of‑court restructurings.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including cash‑flow forecasts, capital structure analysis, recovery modelling, covenant analysis, and scenario planning.
- Prepare high‑quality pitch materials, client presentations, information memoranda, and internal committee materials with strong attention to detail.
- Conduct research on companies, industries, credit markets, investor dynamics, and comparable transactions to support idea generation and client discussions.
- Assist in coordinating work streams with legal advisors, lenders, rating agencies, and internal teams to support efficient transaction execution.
- Stay up to date with European leveraged finance markets, distressed debt trends, restructuring case law, and macroeconomic developments relevant to client situations.
- Strong academic background (Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline preferred).
- Prior relevant experience (1-2 years in investment banking, restructuring advisory or leveraged finance).
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Solid understanding of capital structures, credit analysis, and corporate finance principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, transaction‑driven environment with high attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute within a lean deal team.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and intellectually curious.
- Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to handle multiple work streams.
- Commercial intuition and eagerness to learn about complex capital structure situations.
