Management Accountant

A well-established UK business with a complex, asset-heavy operating environment is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support its finance function. This role offers broad exposure across cost reporting, fixed assets, budgeting and forecasting, working closely with operational and commercial teams.

The Management Accountant will take ownership of cost reporting and fixed asset management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and insightful analysis to support business performance.

• Ownership of property and operational cost reporting across multiple locations
• Ensure the general ledger accurately reflects:
• Staff-related costs
• Property and facility costs
• Maintenance costs
• Legal and administrative expenses
• Utilities and energy costs
• Manage accruals and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for all cost-related accounts
• Deliver variance analysis with meaningful insight for operational stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with IFRS

• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and annual financial statements
• Liaise with external auditors and assist throughout the audit process

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate depreciation and asset tracking
• Own capex reporting, working closely with operations and procurement teams
• Support capex budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls around asset capitalisation
• Track asset acquisitions and disposals
• Partner closely with Commercial Finance and Procurement functions

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified
• Proven experience in management accounting within a multi-site or asset-intensive environment
• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting and cost control
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems
• Confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
