Accounts Assistant

The finance team are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to work alongside the finance manager. This role will suit someone working towards a professional finance qualification, who wants to gain experience within an exciting, fast paced, global P/E backed business.

You will be reporting into the Financial Controller UK and be responsible for the UK overheads, duties to include:

• The UK overheads inbox - monitoring this daily, clearing down and responding to queries.
• Posting invoices onto our document management system and checking accuracy of postings onto the finance system (Net Suite), set up of new suppliers.
• The end-to-end process of the bi-monthly overheads payment run.
• Payment of employee expense claims & posting related journals onto Net Suite.
• Posting of monthly employee credit card journals onto Net Suite and weekly bank reconciliations.
• Management of the overheads aged creditor listing, ensuring the integrity of the ledger and investigating any unknown balances.
• Month end journals preparation to be reviewed by the FM; including monthly overhead GL review & isolation of mis-postings between accounts, accruals and prepayments.
• Monthly overhead variance analysis for budget heads and senior management information.
• Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations for review by the FM.
• Cashflow reporting; update weekly actuals from bank statements and provide insights for the purposes of short & long term cashflow forecasting.
• Year-end audit assistance plus Ad-hoc assistance as required from the finance manager.
• Work to embody the Talon values and behaviours to maintain the best possible culture throughout Talon.
• Participate in projects and initiatives which drive Talon’s commitment to positive social and environmental causes.

• Extremely organised in a manner that is easily read by others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Computer literacy.
• Good administrative skills.
• The ability to work independently or part of a team.
• The ability to work to deadline.
• Good with managing workload.

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Part-qualified chartered accountant.
• Net Suite experience desirable, but not compulsory.
• Good organization skills, high attention to detail.
