Assistant Accountant - Architecture & Design

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join a small, close-knit team in a varied position that focuses on all key aspects of the reporting cycle. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Finance Director as a team of two, working across the month-end cycle, as well as managing all key aspects of transactional finance.

An established design & architecture firm that has recently expanded to the US & UAE, they're at an exciting stage in their journey with various new projects in the pipeline. They're a small, friendly team with their core office in Central London; they pride themselves on their inclusive culture and will give you a variety of exciting projects to work on from day one, leaning on their experienced Finance Director.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently.
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow activities.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
• Provide assistance in budgeting and forecasting processes.

• A strong academic background in Accounting or Finance.
• Month-end reporting exposure; ability to prepare trial balance.
• Previous experience working across AP & AR.
• Prior experience in a smaller business is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a collaborative team, partnering with designers & project managers.
• A proactive approach to solving financial challenges.
