Financial Accountant

We're supporting an international NGO to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant to provide hands‑on support through year‑end and a range of ad‑hoc finance projects. This is a delivery‑focused role suited to someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a complex, international, donor‑funded environment.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring a smooth and timely year‑end close, working closely with senior finance leaders and external auditors, while also supporting day‑to‑day financial accounting and reporting needs across multiple entities.

• Support year‑end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit schedules
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation (UK charity context)
• Liaise with external auditors and support audit queries
• Support month‑end close and management accounting as required
• Assist with donor reporting and ad‑hoc financial analysis
• Provide additional accounting support across UK and overseas entities

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong financial accounting experience, ideally within an international NGO or charity
• Hands‑on experience supporting year‑end and audit processes
• Comfortable working in grant‑funded, donor‑heavy environments
• Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, can‑do approach
• Able to hit the ground running in an interim setting

The team is highly collaborative, supportive and the working arrangements are very flexible with on average one day in the office per week required.
