Training

Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Level 4 - ATT. A key role within any accountancy and finance function, individuals undertaking this apprenticeship will hone their ability to create, verify and review accurate and timely financial information. This apprenticeship can suit a variety of financial functions as there are a range of qualifications available to suit your organisation.

The ATT qualification gives you the knowledge and practical skills to work in tax compliance. After qualifying, you can progress onto CTA and become a chartered tax advisor.

The ATT syllabus follows a modular structure, which consists of two core certificate papers and four optional certificate papers, allowing you to specialise in your own area of interest or expertise. You must also complete three computer‑based exams (Law, Professional Responsibilities & Ethics and Accounting).

  • Corporate Taxation (CT)
  • Inheritance Tax, Trusts & Estates (IHTTE)
  • Value Added Tax (VAT)

You will also be required to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA), which will include a role simulation exam and portfolio with reflective statement.

Training will be provided by attending either face‑to‑face classroom lessons or Live Online. An apprenticeship must be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate time to off‑the‑job training, as well as completing the knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with your apprenticeship.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Must hold a 2:1 degree classification or above in any discipline.

Minimum 120 UCAS points (or 300 UCAS points for exams before 2017) or equivalent.

GCSEs:
Minimum Grade 6 in Maths and English Language and Grade 4 in all other subjects (or B in Maths and English Language and C in all other subjects for exams before 2017) or equivalent.

Must have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past 2 years.

Right to work in the UK.

Skills required
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with accounting or tax software is beneficial but not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in tax. You will receive full study support, beginning with the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) Level 4 qualification, with the opportunity to progress to the CTA qualification to become a Chartered Tax Adviser.

You will gain practical experience from day one, with responsibility increasing over time. You'll receive technical training, in‑house learning opportunities, and personal development support. A dedicated training and development coordinator, study champion, and partner mentor will guide your progress. Hybrid working is available once the probationary period is complete.
