I am seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead a finance team as my client's business enters an exciting phase of its transformation journey.
This is a pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function, delivering high-quality internal and statutory reporting, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and modernising financial governance and processes.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making across the business. This position offers significant opportunity for professional growth and long-term career progression.
This position is for my client who owns an international luxury homewares company based in W London.
The Role As Financial Controller, you will:- Lead the preparation and review of timely and accurate monthly consolidated management accounts
- Support the development of annual budgets, business plans and wider strategic initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and systems, championing a growth mindset
- Provide technical leadership on complex accounting and tax matters
- Act as the primary finance contact for external stakeholders
- Review and approve monthly payroll
- Oversee VAT returns and payments/reclaims across multiple jurisdictions, liaising with external tax advisors
- Manage the annual external audit process, serving as the lead contact for auditors
- Supervise, mentor and support the development of a finance team of four
We are looking for a proactive and forward-thinking finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment.
You will bring:- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Strong experience in UK GAAP (FRS 102) statutory reporting, audit management and tax compliance
- A transformation-focused mindset with a track record of improving processes and financial reporting quality
- Experience operating within a growth or change-led environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate confidently across all levels of the business
- Direct exposure to the CEO and senior leadership
- Opportunity to influence strategic direction
- Hybrid working (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote)
