Assistant Financial Controller

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team s role is all about ownership - leading month-end, strengthening controls, improving processes, and delivering clear financial insight to support business performance. As Assistant Financial Controller
, you will:

• Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and group reporting submissions.
• Produce clear management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis).
• Own CAPEX reporting and support tax/VAT submissions in coordination with Group.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles.
• Provide working capital and cash flow analysis to improve liquidity.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver insight and financial modelling.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Manage, mentor and motivate the transactional finance team.
• Drive process improvements and transformation initiatives.

• You’re a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or similar).
• You’ve previously worked as an Assistant FC or in a similar senior finance role.
• You have experience in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.
• You’re confident with financial systems, Power BI and advanced Excel.
• You enjoy improving processes and building strong financial controls.
• You’re comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and explaining financial performance clearly.
• You’ve managed or supported a team before.

• You prefer purely transactional finance with no strategic involvement.
• You’re not comfortable leading month‑end or managing audits.
• You struggle to balance accuracy with pace in a demanding environment.
• You’re not confident working cross‑functionally with non‑finance teams.

• 40 hrs/week, 8am‑4.30pm Mon‑Fri (flexible start times available).
