About

The Role

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self‑motivated individual to join the Transaction Processing and Controls Team as a Finance Officer. The team reconciles all income and expenditure within the Council’s bank account and provides accountancy support. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, your role will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory and non‑statutory returns, including VAT and CIS.
  • Perform a wide range of corporate reconciliations, including cash and payroll.
  • Prepare and reconcile data files interfaced to the ledger.
  • Update and review changes to financial and cash management systems.
About You

  • Sound understanding and experience in bookkeeping, accounting and data entry.
  • Demonstrates good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills relevant to the role.
  • Competent in the use of information technology, particularly word and Excel based applications and financial systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial processing and management, operating systems and internal control mechanisms.
  • Achieved or working towards an AAT level 3/4 qualification.
Essential for the Role

Basic DBS check is required for the role.
