We are seeking an Accountant, based in London, to work closely with the Head of Accounting and the wider Finance team to support the monthly reporting cycle, maintain accurate financial records, and provide essential support across Taranis’ investment and corporate entities.
This is a hands‑on role with a significant focus on month‑end close, including journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting across a multi‑entity environment. The position provides exposure to investment accounting, corporate treasury activities, and thematic fund operations, offering strong progression opportunities for a part‑qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal deadlines.
- Work closely with the Head of Accounting to manage the month‑end timetable, resolve queries, and support review processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany entries and investment‑related postings.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and maintaining robust financial integrity.
- Support Corporate Investments & Treasury by maintaining accurate accounting records for liquidity strategies, investment portfolios, and financing structures.
- Contribute to short‑and mid‑term cash flow reporting by providing accurate schedules and supporting information.
- Assist in the preparation of Group reporting packs for thematic funds and corporate investment entities.
- Support investment and project accounting activities, including maintaining supporting schedules and assisting with valuation‑related analysis.
- Collaborate with finance, investment, and operational teams to gather data and ensure completeness of month‑end reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, process additions/disposals, and prepare monthly depreciation calculations as part of the month‑end close.
- Assist in audit preparation and respond to auditor queries as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation, systems enhancement, and strengthening internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) and actively studying.
- 2–5 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within a multi‑entity, investment, or project‑based environment.
- Strong understanding of month‑end accounting processes including journals and reconciliations.
- Good Excel skills (pivot tables, LOOKUPs, formulas) and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (ideally SAP.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Clear communicator with the ability to work effectively across finance and non‑finance teams.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to developing skills and taking on new responsibilities.
- Experience with in investment management, corporate treasury, renewable energy, or sustainability‑focused organisations.
- Exposure to fund accounting, multi‑currency reporting or project accounting.
- Familiarity with data or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
