Purpose of the Role
To produce and deliver research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays clients.
AccountabilitiesAnalyze market, sector, corporate, and economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe and produce best‑in‑class research. Research may range from individual company or sector notes to long‑dated thematic reports.
Present research views to Barclays clients through direct, face‑to‑face and virtual interactions, research‑hosted events, and written communications.
Engage with markets, client strategy and other stakeholders to raise awareness of your research to clients and internally.
Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable clients for your research.
Provide insights and research views to internal clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
Collaborate with the supervisory analyst, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure research is produced and delivered in a compliant manner.
Expectations – Leadership & ManagementAs an Assistant Vice President, you will advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions; lead a team performing complex tasks; set objectives and coach employees; conduct performance appraisals and determine reward outcomes.

Key Responsibilities for Credit Research AnalystYou will support analysis for the High‑Yield Consumer Retail team, working directly with the senior analyst. You will interact with investors and corporate management teams while developing financial modelling, relative value analysis, written research, fixed‑income analysis, and critical reasoning skills.
Qualifications and Skills- Relevant experience in a sell‑side and/or buyside investment banking role with an understanding of credit research
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic field
- Experience with corporate and financial modelling
- Proficiency in programs such as Excel and Bloomberg
- Proactive and motivated, structured thinker capable of multitasking in a high‑pressure environment
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, reliability, and ownership of work
- Desire for continued learning and professional development
This role is located in London.
It is deemed a Certified role under the PRA and UK Financial Conduct Authority – Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the holder to possess mandatory regulatory qualifications or meet internal benchmarks.
